New Marine Refrigeration System

This spring at the Annapolis show we will be showing our new line of systems. We will still have our full copper custom system but will be adding a more affordable option . This new system will still utilize the TXV and dual fans and the identical condensing unit but with ready made plates and line set lengths all this can be chosen from our website . Of course you would lose the custom aspect but retain the class leading efficiency that we are known for . Custom systems with all the support and pure copper plates will still be available to our customers that choose this option . This new system will be priced competitively at approximately $1500US with a BD35 compressor . Options will include a BD50 compressor , full ColdEh control panel as with the custom line and extended line sets over 50 feet .

At ColdEh we strive to meet and everyone's refrigeration needs

Regards John

Do you mean battery compartments?

I don't see how batt chemistry reduces the need for high thermal efficiency of the icebox?

Re: New Marine Refrigeration System

Option "A" high thermal efficiency of the enclosure and the most efficient condensing unit on the market

Option "B" don't do anything about the mediocre insulation and enlarge your charging system to drive less efficient larger condensing units to make up for that mediocre insulation.

This conversation was brought to us during the fall Annapolis boat show when a presenter, whom shall remain nameless, was stating that with these new battery chemistries that are become available such as LifePo4 energy is less of a problem . They last longer, charge much faster and are half the weight of lead acid batteries . " With all this power at hand you don't have to worry about the all amp hrs that are going into keeping our refrigeration systems operating" .

Personally I prefer option "A" even though I do have a LifePo4 system on board. I like the option of leaving my boat for a long period of time off of shoe power with my refrigeration systems running , even if there is no sun for a solar boost.

Regards John.

Aha, I understand your point, yes for dino juice charging, the light weight and fast acceptance let you carry more AH between charged.

But solar-only, the charging capacity needs to be able to keep up, just going to LFP may not be enough.

that and for solar you also need to factor in the improved charging curve with Lfp over the ever diminishing acceptance rate of other chemestry's. As they near the 80% and above charge.

Correct , which equates into longer run times on your generator or main engine with lead acid chemistries.
