Admins - Change my account to a vendor account

Hi Folks,

Well, the time has come to change my account status. I am getting pretty busy doing the marine consultation, instruction and repair work I have been doing on the side all along. Looks like this will be my full time gig until we have enough "freedom chips" built up for our Trans-Atlantic ARC.

How do I change my account to a vendor account?

PS: Now I have to live up to "marketing standards" on here... no more controversy, no more political poo, no more yapping on and on, no more fun!

Hey Sean
Isn't there a way you could do both? Keep your current user ID and status for when you're being yourself -- 'cause you know we love ya! -- and have another "official vendor type" account for when you have to wear your vendor's hat ?????

That may be against the rules, but can't hurt ask maybe?

Sean,

You need to contact an Admin to do that. I can ban you but I can't change your account type. Go figure.

Oh my. Are you really sure about this?

I don't know... the board is a heck of a lot of fun... It would be hard to have it be such a sterile and boring experience... the personalities on here are what make it great!

I sure have to tone it down though. lol

Sailorgal: That was too sweet!! Thank you.

Hopefully, an Admin will stroll by here and see this. If not... I'll get a hold of Gord. I haven't been creating enough work for the guy lately.

I am on it. Sean, I will set you as a commercial vendor. I would recommend reading the rules regarding vendor posts. It really should not affect your other posts. Just need to keep discussion around your particular service or product, within the confines of the vendor forum.

Thank you.

That is a good tip. I don't think I have brushed up on the vendor rules yet adequately.

I'll start reading now...

EDIT: Just read the rules. Very friendly and tolerant. I would consider those rules to be just good etiquette on the part of a vendor participating in a forum. Well written.

Mr. Sulli,

I had faith in you all the time. I am thinking this means you won't be waiting hand, and foot on the ultra rich?

Only if my appointment with the Queen comes though.

Thanks for the kind words...

Thanks for keeping the faith!

No, we won't be waiting on them. I keep getting people asking me to do this type of work, so I'm just going to "go with the flow" and do it full time.

It all started with that Gulfstar refit. People started asking back then, and I've done it part time since. Just makes a lot of sense to go with something that's already knocking at your door, I figure.

On the website, you can see a picture of me when I was waiting hand and foot on the ultra-rich. It's an interesting lifestyle, that's for sure - but not for now.

Sean:
Great website!

Hope you don’t mind a little free advice – worth every penny it’s costing you.

From ABYC Compliant Repairs:
Add a section on
PROJECT COORDINATION & MANAGEMENT:
Indicating how you can shepherd a larger refit project from conception, through design to successful conclusion;
which would include the work you personally perform, and more.

And revise:
“… This boat is over 20 years old and < ORIGINALLY > sold for $40K below market value due to “all the interior damage” < OR “in it’s original condition” >. Look at her now!

Good luck in your new endeavours. It's how I made a (1/2 time) living for a decade.
