Our
boat had a tinted and reflective material applied on the non-opening glass windows. We grew to dislike it because it reduced vision through the glass too much at night. Moreover, the reflective quality also interfered with viewing at night, despite offering privacy during the day (didn't provide much privacy at night with
interior lights turned on).
We finally removed the material and left light tan-color curtains over all the windows, which
solved everything but the heat. We guessed that a white liner or reflective material on the glass side of the curtain would have reduced the heat, but never "got round tuit." We did however, appreciate excellent visibility through the glass at night.
I am curious how others have dealt with this issue, including the tinted/reflective material. The material on our windows was applied decades ago and perhaps modern materials are less problematic.
We also have been told that lightly tinted plexiglass is an excellent compromise where possible. Any first-hand experience from anyone out there?
We tried to track down Cera-Nutica, but apparently it is an Italian product that doesn't have U.S. distribution.
