Wind Scoop, dorcap recommendations.

What are your favorite wind scoops and why?

Or do you perfer a dorcap or a breeze booster?

Re: Wind Scoop, dorcap recommendations.

I like how easy breeze boosters are to setup and take down. We have to do it several times a day as rain passes through.

I wish there was one that would block rain...

Re: Wind Scoop, dorcap recommendations.

Goodness knows how you'd find it, msponer, but about 1983, there was a magazine article with instructions for making a reefing wind scoop, and I made one of them for our first Insatiable. It was a bit of a nuisance to set up, but it worked well in light rain, but not in heavy wind.

Now, I have made a dorade concept hatch dodger for our forehatch, which is easier to put up and take down, but does not function as a breeze enhancer, which the first one did.

Feel free to PM me if you would want more details--it's a long time ago, but I think I remember the principles.
