Re: What happened to Scandia Marine Products?

Scandia Marine Products has indeed moved to Duluth and is open for business along with Up-N-Out Marine Ladders. Their websites have been updated with current contact information to place orders (you will need to e-mail or call to place an order as their online store is under maintenance).

Up-N-Out Marine Ladders

I emailed them earlier this year and they would not sell me a boarding ladder and said they had no plans (ever, at all) to sell them again. Our marina has one of their ladders for emergency egress on all our docks. Thanks for posting this. The ladders aren't cheap but they look like they would work and aren't too bulky.

Re: What happened to Scandia Marine Products?

I emailed the new owner in Denmark ( or some place). He told me the same thing. Want a boat ladder? We can not help. No intent to sell them anymore. He had a very few left in stock he would sell, but would prodipuce no more.

Pity.

They will continue to all dock ladders. Maybe you could buy a dock ladder and modify it to work. Go figure.

The difference is the boat ladders had a kind of extension on the rungs making flats for your feet, the dock ladders don't have that feature. Also the boat ladders had a little push off to keep the ladder off the side.

If you can weld stainless you might have a shot.
