Nope. Had my P3 for some years now. No issues. Most folks don't have problems with these autopilots.

Did you try calling Will Hamm?

Bill

PS...did you check the hydraulic pump motor? Depending on how/where these are installed, it's possible to get water into the shaft area resulting in rusting of the shaft and bearings. Sound like your motor may have seizure issues.

This AP from WH has been defective from day one.I was directed to open 1 of the control boxes to check a plug in connection. When I open the motor control, wil ham voided my warrantee.Get a COMNAV and save yourself time and money.Better product support without a doubt.

Re: WH autopilot issues

Been running one of these WH autopilots for years without having this issue. I would suggest calling Wil and see what he suggests over the phone. He has always been very helpful to me when I had questions.

Re: WH autopilot issues

I agree. Never heard of problems with the P3, never had any myself except rusted hydraulic pump shaft bearings because I stupidly installed it vertically without protection from water ingress.

Can't understand how it could have been "working perfectly three weeks ago" and "defective from day one" at the same time???

Call Will Hamm....he's a gentleman and is very responsive and, justifiably, very proud of his products.

Re: WH autopilot issues

Ditto bill's comments. We have a WH and it's great. Had a minor user-caused issue and Wil was exceptionally helpful at odd hours and weekends to help sort it out. Would not hesitate to recommend the product or the service
