Re: Walkerbay Warranty: Sunburnt RIB Tubes

First the dingy was Hypalon. Second the webbing tore on the D ring. I only tow the dingy in calm weather on the bay. It gets stored offshore. Walker Bay advertised it with towing rings if you can't tow it don't advertise it. As for purchasing it was a left over and not a clearence model. Last years model shouldn't have any problems. Walker Bay should have recalled them when they knew they were having manufacturing problems instead of trying to clear them out and discontinueing them. Instead they stuck Defender with them and they passed the savings along unaware of the problems until they started coming back with problems and no support from Walker Bay so they droped them. I have an 11 year old Sea Worthy that is still good and has been towed for many miles and it's not an off shore model and never a problem. This was all Walker Bays' way of making up for their loss by passing the problem to other people. Again I want to thank Defender for manning up to the problem of poor quality and taking care of their customers.

Re: Walker Bay Warranty: Sunburnt RIB Tubes

Also have WB Genesis in Hypalon. Everything glued to it fell off, was reglued under warranty, fell off again - so got it reglued again under warranty and it all fell off again.

Just trying hard to contact them but the phone numbers quoted don't get to anybody and no response to emails.

In the past the warranty guys have been good, but I guess the fact that I have to keep contacting them isn't a great advert!

Re: Walker Bay Warranty: Sunburnt RIB Tubes

Interesting. Maybe it's heat related. I am up in a colder climate with Weaver pads and holding points glued to a Genesis hypalon model. 3 years of coastal cruising and being left outside uncovered 24/7 all year round. So far no indication of anything letting go.
