Ultrasonic Anti-Fouling

I know this subject has been done to death but here is my experience. My 40 ft fibreglass yacht is moored in Sydney harbour. Australia. I had it anti fouled last Feb 11 while cruising in Tasmania. On my return in March I purchased the Jaycar do it yourself kit for A$250.00 and installed the transducer inside the hull above the prop (or as close as I could).
I had a diver take a photo of the prop area in July and was initially disappointed as there was quite a bit of weed on the prop and shaft but I could not see any hard growth. The boat had not been off the mooring for 3 months at this time.
Last week I cruised 15 miles up the coast for a few days and as the weather had warmed up went for a swim to check the hull. the prop and shaft were very clean with no growth of any kind, using the engine had thrown off the weed. The hull was also clean of growth but had some slime that wiped off very easy.
I have now purchased a second unit I will mount just in front of the keel as I think one unit on this size boat is on the limits.
There it is and I am so far very impressed.
