Solar vent, remote panel

Anyone using a solar vent with battery and a remote solar panel? Sounds like a helluva idea as can move the panel to sunniest location aboard and the vent elsewhere. I saw one on Amazon but reviews were negative most stating unit was underpowered for moving any appreciable air. Thanks....

They make a self contained vent with battery and solar-powered. No wires to run. Just install it. Works great. Solar vent or some such name. Somebody will chime in.

We have two. People complain they stop working; we bought two and had to almost immediately return one but since we got the new one we've had ours for more than a year and they keep going. They do get dusty so require periodic cleaning. We also found that unless you keep them running all day, you cannot get them to turn on at night... maybe the motor requires too much juice from the battery.

They work well but do not expect them to cool the cabin - they are just to move some air.

We put one in the shower stall of the head and another in our cabin [but not above the bunk]. So if either develops a leak or seawater gets through it will just go into the bilge.
