Replace old cabin door latches/handles

It seems hard to find old cabin door latches with the chrome handles... rather than cutting new holes in the doors it would be so much easier to find an exact replacement. Any ideas?

What brand and size door hardware are you looking to replace? Many older boats used Perko latches. Try their web pages. http://www.perko.com/catalog/categor...s_and_latches/

Thanks... I saw that Perko site before ...but the older style with traditional rounded door knobs, chrome plated.... used to see them everywhere.....

can't seem to find it on the web...

I assume they came original in the 80's...

Check eBay. New old stock shows up there all the time on Perko and ABI hardware of different types.

Also, send a picture of your old hardware to Minney's in Newport Beach. You'd be amazed what he has in that place.

Re: Replace old cabin door latches/handles

You have to realize you are dealing with someone who is not very bright... especially when he just got a new Apple computer and is getting used to the key strokes and menus...and trying to transfer pictures from a Samsung Tablet.... DOS was easy compared to this... I used to have 12 year old kids to do this for me but they grew up. Will keep trying...
