Re-E-Power

I bought an electric drive system 3000 from Re-E-Power 3 years ago. I mounted it on my Cape Dory Intrepid 28 and enjoyed it for the first two years. This year as I was painting the bottom I noticed a serious galvanic corrosion problem. It was bad enough that I could see the o-ring that seals the motor compartment. I sent the motor core back to Kevin for parts replacement along with $200 for parts and labor. He said it would take two weeks. That was in June. It's almost September now and I still don't have the motor core back. He doesn't respond to emails and has a machine answer his phone. He also doesn't respond to snail mail.

A web search revealed Re-E-Power has an 'F' rating with the BBB. I found blogs that complained of the same lousy customer relations.

I liked the product other than the corrosion (that can be overcome), but I can't in any way recommend re-e-power.

PS I mounted my 4HP Merc on the transom and will ride out the season with that.
