Raritan customer service

I have had two occasions in the last week to contact Raritan customer service.

First when I was installing a new PHII toilet. I had a question about the discharge fitting as it points straight down and would not work like that in my install. Turns out the fitting rotates independently of the flange (could tell that by looking at it). The fellow I talked to, Vic, was nice and even took the time to be sure that no one had changed the design on him (he indicated it wouldn't have been the first time that happened).

The second time I called was because my month old salt feed tank started to leak. Ok, leak is not quite the right word, it was spraying salt water everywhere as I was trying to fill it. Vic (again) took the call and when I told him about the problem he asked for my address and shipped it out Tuesday, the same day I called and about 30 minutes before service hours ended. It appeared at the house on Wednesday.

Just wanted to say thanks to them for the great service and let people know. I realize that good after sales service goes a long way with boaters.

Likewise, I've gotten great support from Raritan on two occasions. It's really great how solidly they help their customers.

Wonderful! So far, after a year, I've had no problems with my PHII. Good to know that if I do, the customer service people are pleasant and helpful!

One thing to know/remember about the Raritan PHII heads. The flange just outboard of the joker valve is VERY sensitive to overtightening. If you torque it down too much, the joker valve distorts and allows backflow into the bowl. Very unpleasant if you are only using the boat on weekends. Just use minimal torque on the bolts and try to keep it even.

While I've learned my lesson, my gratitude to Peggy Hall for the original info.

I have also gotten very good service over the phone and via email from Raritan when planning and then installing two new PHII toilets and ElectroScan units. They looked at my piping design and made good comments, then helped me to understand the electronics that control it all when I was confused during installation. A pleasant suprise!
