I have 2 Garmin
chart plotters and lots of Garmin
e-charts for my circumnavigation
So far I was happy with their product.
Now I am sitting in American Samoa
and ordered more e-charts from Garmin. Based on their purchasing
patterns and the area we are planing to travel, we ordered the charts
(micro chip) for Philippines/Java/Mariana Isl.
When we received the charts
we found out that the entire area of Micronesia and Marshal Isl. were not covered with detailed information for navigation
We spoke to many different people at Garmin without any success.
They did not provide or want to connect you to a supervisor or manager.
After many frustrating calls we ended up talking with Steven Carnley, Marine
He promised help. Unfortunately he dropped the ball after 2 days of e-mail contact.
We don't understand how Garmin can sell world wide charts with no navigational details.
We need a higher lever management e-mail address or phone
# to address our problem but I am not sure that Garmin is willing to help.
So, please be aware of problems with Garmin e-charts. They promise but don't deliver.
Did anybody has similar problems with Garmin. Any suggestion what I should do?
