Problem with 5milewifi

Just enquiring if anyone has experienced problems when loading the driver programme for vista. Have tried to contact the company but have had no response from their technical support. The device, although it appears to be correctly installed, the icon which should appear, doesn't!

Not sure if this is an indication of corrupt software, or if there is a problem with connecting to vista. Needless to say its very disappointing when trying to connect to WiFi when at anchor. Any suggestions or advice will be greatly appreciated.

I had a problem with another brand. The issue was that Vista wanted to pick the driver and it chose the wrong one.

I ended up only loading the drive from the install disk. Then attaching the antenna. Then going into the control panel, system, selecting the antenna from the USB list, and then changing the driver to the correct one.

Now, that leaves you no icon on the desk top, but lick on the start button, select Connect To and you should see available WiFi signals.

Your problem may be different but this is worth a try.

Why would anyone try to use Vista?

Change back to XP or move on to 7 and I suspect it will work fine.
