I'm sure there will be a million posts about how bad of an idea this product is (sniff sniff)....

But... This seems to have amazing potential for a boat.

Hmmm.. dunno mate.. remember back in the late 70's the M1 Motorway just Nth of London was closed for 3 days when a tanker of dehydrated water went of the road and burst its load into a stream...

I am intrigued! Don't get me wrong I will let someone else try it first but could solve a lot of space issues.

Watch the video.. Although technically possible to snort it, there is no advantage (1 drink=lots of powder) and LOADS of pain!

Not really. A shot equivilant of powdered alchohol takes up 4 times the volume as a shot of whisky. By weight it is the same as 110 proof booze.

I guess you might be able to fit it places you can't squeeze a bottle, but that's about it.

Thats not really true.. If you leave the powdered alchohol in the original packaging, then yes it takes up 4 times the volume. If you remove it from the packaging, then it takes up the same volume (as 80 proof).

I'm not sure where you got your numbers for weight.. by weight it is 1/3 the weight of 80 proof. So it would be similar in weight (still lighter) as 190 proof. It would also be much less flamable than 190 proof.

The various states are rushing to ban it. Too easy for minors to get ahold of it and other reasons.

Best use is to make water drinkable.

Did you watch the video? If not, you should educate yourself.

That has been completely dispelled.. It is subject to the exact same regulations as liquid alcohol.

Seems that if you have to carry water to reconstitute the stuff that there is no weight saving.

And i doubt if they will have a good single malt version...

Yeah, I know that it is hard for some folks to believe,but there are still a few of us out cruising that don't have watermakers... Luddites, one and all.

And for those who don't like whisky, substitute your favourite top end spirituous beverage. Hard to believe one can generate dried products that are the same in flavour as stuff that has lived in barrels for decades. But that may not matter to some...
