New sails and foam/rope luff

We are looking for new sails, and have been talking to Scott Sails in Annapolis among others. Has anyone had experiences with them? Also we are wondering about foam or rope luff on the jib, and whether the boat will actually not point as well with the luff causing a lump when reefed. Also, will the foam decay or mildew and need replacing in a few years.

Aloha Steve,
I am certainly not an expert. I think there will be a few seconds lost in a mile while beating to weather with a lump in your luff but since you are not racing (Island Packets don't race often) I think the performance will not be noticeable. Just my opinion.

There are other threads on this site about furling fores'ls and foamr lufts. A quick search will yield much info.
