Re: New Lifesling 2 bag

Yeah, that Sunbrella bag is what I was referring to when I said I'm going to get the same bag built for $50. I doubt if you need instructions printed on the front of a bag, because who's going to read them when the bag needs to be deployed. You grab it and throw it. I save $25 and have one less West Marine branding on my boat.

A quick look at the prices reveals that it costs more than the one West Marine sells.

Re: New Lifesling 2 bag

Ok now I feel like an idiot, my boat came with a life sling with a rotten cover so I threw the thing away.
Who knew you could buy covers?
I got a new one at WM the other day on sale for $99 so I guess it worked out.

Re: New Lifesling 2 bag

How was that a sale price? Was it the box that costs $200?

Regarding the Sunbrella bags, for modest extra cost, the vendor can add a pocket with a clear plastic cover that one can insert the instructions cut from the old West Marine bag into on the cockpit side flap of the bag that I think would be worth while.

One thing that does make the WM bags last longer is a periodic cleaning and wipe down with 303 UV Protectant. Our bag is currently over 10 years old but still looks near new with periodic 303 applications.

FWIW...

Don't understand your question, price today on WM website is $189, I paid $99.
I consider that a sale price.

Re: New Lifesling 2 bag

Okay, I thought you were talking about the bag, but you are referring to the entire Lifesling 2 product.

Re: New Lifesling 2 bag

Yes, since the bag was rotted out on the old one, I tossed it. I didn't know you could just buy a bag.
