Here's what I know. Nervion originally based in
Mexico, now has some facilities in the US as well. The paints they make
service the aeronautical market i.e. Jets and other aircraft use it because it has extraordinary adhesion to
aluminum. It is also used on tankers in the
marine industry. And they claim to adhere well to a host of other substrates too, including
fiberglass. They are now trying to break into the general
boating market with topsides and a/f bottom paints. Guy next to me in the yard has been given
paint as a beta test by a friend who works for the company. So far he has sprayed one primer coat. Looks as good as a primer can look. Gonna do another primer coat, then 2 finish coats. He tells me, quoting his Nervion friend, they coated a sheet of
aluminum with it in
Mexico and submerged it in
salt water for one year. When they retrieved it, they "swiped the slime off by hand". ANYBODY KNOW ANYTHING MORE?
