Hi guys! I don't know of anywhere in the US to get Maggi chain. Give this place a look: Home - Chains, Ropes & Anchors :: The Maritime Bondage Specialists

Contact the owner Grant - he is a tremendous help and sometimes posts here. He would know if there were US distributers. Alternately, you may find that shipping costs via ocean freight from NZ to Panama isn't so bad.

Budget Marine in the Caribbean also sells Maggi. You might try to see what their ocean shipping to Panama costs.

I bought 100 m of G7 from Maggi directly in Italy. Was promised in a week but took 4 so I missed my container. My boat is on the hard at shelter bay maybe we could combine the shipment save a little money.

My boat is on the hard in Shelter Bay as well. I have an e mail out to Italy and NZ. I need 200 ft of G3. Saving money is always interesting.

Maggi does not make G3, but the good news is that their Aqua4 is much better! Aqua7 will let you downsize a bit.

The chain is great, but allow a long time for delivery. Multiply the delivery time by 3- 5x. Unrealistic delivery times is unfortunatly common for Italian commercial marine companies.

Looks like good stuff, I bought 180 feet of 10mm chain off a Catana several years ago. It had been used for a few years and I used it for 3 years. Still looked better than 2 y/o West Marine stuff. maybe was this brand?

Let me know if you find a US dealer. Could use around 120' of 8mm.

If you only need G3i don't think it makes sense to bring it from Italy. I went with the G7 calibrated to enable me to downsize to 8 mm from 10 mm. Saved me 100 kgs of weight. Not sure you need to worry about the weight on a whitby.
I ordered mine from here.
Nautilium - Home page. If yo don't read italian see Massimo on Lacardinala same dock as Jedi

I’m not returning to the boat until Dec Jan and I’m still looking into options. I still have to figure out what size I need if I go with Maggi.

You will need to get the size that fits your chain gypsy unless you plan on changing the gypsy also. I think you currently have 3/8" (9.5 or 10mm). If you wanted to get the Maggi Aqua7, you could drop down to 5/16" (8mm), but would need to buy a chain gypsy that size.

Anytime you get anything out of Italy, be aware that the entire country basically goes on holiday for the entire month of August. Any order that does not ship before August 1, will probably not ship until September. Some French companies (like Leroy Somer) have a similar policy. It is pretty standard throughout Italy.
