After the lightning strike destroyed masthead anchor light (and everything else on the masthead) I installed two Bebi "steaming" lights on both sides of the mast at the same level as "masthead" light, under the spreaders facing both sides.
Therefore they provide the 360 degree visibility, are well protected undre spreaders behind shrouds and permanently connected.
The boat is visible even more from the light reflected by the mast.
Very happy with the solution .

The Bebi Owl is terrific, as are all the other Bebis I have. Plus there's the benefit of buying from cruisers settled in Fiji. You do have to rig some sort of base (easy) and solder a few wires. I mounted the Owl anchor light over the deck light (can't remember the name) on top of my 18' mizzen. It's not too high, and gives ample working light in the cockpit.
