Holding Tank Monitors

Looking for recommendations on level monitors for holding tanks. Would have to be the type that use an external sensor such as SCAD Technologies' Model 501307. Any experiences with this device?
Thanks for any input.

Re: Holding Tank Monitors

I used to own one that looked similar by Snake River Technologies, using capacitive technology on foil sensor strips. Worked well and was reliable on a plastic walled tank.

My foil sensor and gauge is from FERRILLO SALES LLC. Well under $100 (1 tank model), easy to install and seems to work well. Dennis is an easy guy to work with. This is not a necessary item, you can always wait until back pressure when you pump signals a full tank but that might be at an inconvenient location such as the Dry Tortugas.

Re: Holding Tank Monitors

I know you asked about a SCAD type sensor but IMO a better option is a Tank Tender. They are completely non electrical and have a great reputation for reliability. Like any technology they can experience failures but they are generally rare and are easily fixed. We installed our 4 tank system in about 2 hours.

Amen, though I now have the PVC pipe sensor as the foil type did not like my boat's glass/plywood/glass tank wall.
