Getfeetwet.com

I saw some refurbished items here that interested me since the price was less.

But... Caveat etc.

Has anyone had experience with this .com place?

Thanks

Michael

Got a great deal on a new, closeout radar and last years plotter. Free shipping wasn't a small extra with a radar dome!

The guy told me he is at the top of the list with Garmin to buy all their outdated and refurb stock.

I purchased a Garmin 540 from them, refurbished. It was the cheapest price anywhere. The unit arrived quickly and was darn near half the cost of a new unit from a regular retailer. I was sailing through the waters of Sarasota Florida when I entered an area that appeared to have a missing dataset. I contacted Garmin, and they shipped me out the newest version of the electronic charts for free, I reloaded the data. Problem solved.

I had a positive transaction with getfeetwet.com and would do business with them again.

Amazing

I spent close to 90 minutes on the phone with a rep from getfeetwet.com asking him every imaginable question about chartplotters, transducers, radars, and expandability and how their business works. The man was a AMAZING fountain of comparison product information. he was very clear that 99% of their time is in pre-sale conversations like ours and they expect it.

I did not buy anything from him, but I certainly will buy that chartplotter from them when I am ready. I am not sure about support after the sale, but he really did not have to go into the detail that he did all while making sure the information he was giving fit my specific needs. He cracked a joke saying "bottomfeeders like you" take a lot of time, but that we buy in the end and tell other people of the pre-sales service.

I am no longer hesitant to buy refurbished.
