Flex Shot vs Flex Seal vs Mighty Sealer?

With all the rain, we've sprung a leak! Looks like the caulking around window, which was Dow Corning 795 Silicone, has worked well but is old and needs replacing. No time for that right now! My question is whether anyone has any experience with a quick fix using Flex Shot, Flex Seal, or Mighty Sealer? Which one? Did it work? Did it last? Was it hard to apply?

Re: Flex Shot vs Flex Seal vs Mighty Sealer?

I doubt you will get an answer on any of that.
I would duct tape it or put a rag under it or whatever was necessary until the weather improved enough to do the job correctly, and I would never use silicone, this is not your house, silicone has some kind of oil or something in it that makes it so nothing will adhere to fiberglass once its had silicone on it.
Maybe that something is silicone ?

Yup going to have to take the windows out and do the job correctly. Butyl tape and marine sealant.

I think the key here is, do no more damage. Don't try something that makes a proper repair more difficult.

If you have to do something temporary, don't use silicone or anything else that can't be completely removed.

Our new to us boat had a couple of ports show leaks this winter too. A little Gorilla Tape for the balance of the winter, and a proper repair once the weather turns better.

For a temp fix I have used plumbers PVC tape. Clean and dry the surface and apply the tape.

I agree, use gorilla tape until you have the conditions to do it right.

Yep, trhat stuff is silicone.
Nothing, not even silicone, will stick to it.

I've never tried gorilla Tape but Hurricane Tape lasts a couple of years through all kinds of weather and leaves no residue. Stay far away from any silicone!

Not certain why I have more like of silicone caulk than others. I sealed a truck windshield that was good for thirty years. And GE silicone II is paintable. Others not so. But it's scraped off and sanded to the nth degree I cannot believe stuff won't stick

Okay, I get it! I won't be using the silicone! Looks Gorilla tape, PVC tape, or Hurricane tape in the immediate!
