Custom Mattresses

My wife wants a traditional innerspring mattress for the forward Pullman style bunk on our Island Packet 38. Any suggestions for vendors or products? We are located in NJ

Thanks,
Art Femenella

Custom Fit Yacht, Marine & RV Mattresses, Sheets, Bedding and more. 800-241-7751 In Fla but they ship everywhere. They will also design a split matress if you can't get it in in one piece.

Re: Custom mattresses

We had a mattress custom made for our aft stateroom and liked it so much that we had four others made for the rest of the bunks on the boat. Ours were done by a company in Southern California who came to the boat, measured and returned a few weeks later with the finished products. They also made sheets and mattress pads to fit each bunk. A very worthwhile expense in my opinion.

Re: Custom mattresses

Re: Custom mattresses

Artfem,
I have a custom Latex foam mattress from HMC. I thought I wanted an innerspring mattress as well, but the sales rep talked me into a 7" thick foam mattress. It was less expensive and lighter. Glad I went that way. The mattress is more comfortable than the innerspring I had at home back then (2003).
However, if the wife has decided it should be an innerspring there is probably no reason look for another solution. HMC makes innerspring mattresses as well. The company has an East Coast manufacturing facility in Ft. Lauderdale, but they used to have local reps. I dealt with the rep in Annapolis.
If you have storage bins under the berth, I recommend you have whoever makes your mattress install a hinge so you can swing the mattress out of way rather than pulling it off the berth.

9 years later it is still the most comfortable mattress I've ever slept on.
