IIRC the LaCrosse packages are designed for level mounting. The unit will be unbalanced when they're heeled as on a sailboat. Which doesn't justify the higher price of a marine unit that has been balanced, but that's the way the universe is.

I have been "eyeing" one at the local Walmart I think is $89.00. I plan to buy and install it before my next outing. I had similar but smaller unit on my previous boat for 3 years it worked fine.
