Cabo Rico 38 original manual windlass

Anyone know anything about these windlasses? The one I'm looking at is unlabeled, removed from a CR38 -- what size gypsy did they come with? How serviceable are they? Decent manual windlasses for full time cruising? I saw some people on the CR forum complaining about them but wanted to see if anyone else had any insight.

I don't think you're going to find that there was only one brand or type of windlass installed. It probably depended on the year and likely what the first owner wanted. Eclipse didn't have a windlass at all. Finding anything common on all CR38s is pretty uncommon.

thanks -- yea came off an early CR 38, cast bronze, I'll put a picture up when I get one and see if anyone can identify it and speak for or against
