Re: Best Fiberglass Dinghies

The Livingston thing does not look like the easiest dinghy to row upwind, up-chop or thru the surf ;-(

But then again, if it fits your area of use I bet it is is a great dink!

For currently available ones, I like the Bauer from Bauteck Marine in St Augustine and the Trinka which is also made I FL.

Re: Best Fiberglass Dinghies

Hi Gord,

Sorry to be so long getting back--busy weekend. Yes, I still have the last one, though as of tonight I may not--there's one last buyer I need to call.
As for the person who suggested nonskid--I added nonskid compound to the last coat of gelcoat on my dink's sole when I built it--nice and grippy now for the kids, but collects dirt.

Easy to row in wind and chop. Can be sailed too. Their rotomolded thing looks equally good to me.

Unfortunately, they do not fit on our deck ;-(

We have two 9 footers and that are over on the mainland the other captain's swear by them. They consistently row them in horrendous conditions. I would get another if I could find it. I currently have a puffin and constantly feel like I am going to die in it.

Is this really Marc? Where did he get that wig from? Or is it an older photo?

;-)
