Autopilot Ideas

We have just had a new hydrolic steering system fitted to our yacht, shes a long keeled ketch and weighs approx 13 tonne and are looking to install a new auto pilot, off to the boat show at Excell (London) in a month or so but wanted to get an idea of what I should be looking at first???

comnav autopilots are great!!! handles my 20 ton trawler in 8-10 ft seas---is inexpensive, simple to install and has great tech support if you need any help...highly recommend it.

Re: Autopilot Ideas

my formosa has a simrad hdl 2000--i love it-- handles my heavy full keeled baby drawing minimal electricity. goood autopilot with a matching price. well worth every penny invested. best crewman you will ever have. when set, i am unable to manually turn my wheel. stears well in big seas and 60 kt winds. didnt measure the quartering seas but they broke over the waist of my formosa as we sailed.....
