xyz anchor rated "best" by Practal Sailor for mud

I just bought a new anchor a few days ago & its the xyz anchor
( i also have the spade a140 as a primary)

Has anyone seen the the April issue in Practical Sailor? www.practical-sailor.com

Mud anchors, but it seems as if this xyz anchor is great in more than just mud=(strange looking)

it was awarded it a top pick based on its performance by Practal Sailor. there is more to read on the xyz website www.xyzmarineproducts.com
This anchor sets at ultra short (1:2) scope. Made with precision of 316 stainless steel and weighing only 10.6 pounds, it has over 9,000 pounds of holding power in sand and 500 pounds in mud,
I have not tryed it yet but will post my thoughts on this anchor & the spade a140 after I cruise the boat back from France to America,Im taking about a year or so to do this so Im sure to encounter most bottom condistions along the way

This anchor may or may not be the “cat’s meow”, but I don’t put much faith in either the Practical Sailor or Creative Marine tests cited. Neither test reflects my substantial anchoring experience in varied conditions. Of course, what’s over 2,000 nights at anchor, comparted to an ABS “witnessed” test.

Not spam, just enthusiasm for his new (expensive) toy.

thanks Gord
Perhaps the XYZ is too good to be true, I did buy one,and maybe I just got the shaft- who knows- I will give it a try and let the board know . Just from the small size of it I would be afraid to leave the boat anchored with it unless I kept an eye on it, until it proves itself over the next year or so.

Its true - I am in the process of outfitting a new boat,(I sold my house to buy) I have not taken delivery of yet,its still at the factory- I will be picking it up on May 8 in France, so I have been paying attention to all the good posters on this board and SSCA , trying to learn as much as possible. I have no finical interests in any of these products, and perhaps with my enthusiasm I went to far, time is very near and im really excited to be leaving south Florida to start on a new life- im sorry if I offended Stevethemonk or anyone eles.

Thanks Eric for the offer!
My girl Friend "Sitar" is French & has family in the area, we also have frends with boats in the area so were in good shape, Yes I will be sailing her back to the USA, but were not in a hurry, all I know for sure is were headed south along the coast for now, so many opitions were not sure were we will be going -Med?-we think we will come accross with the ARC in late November, this year or next- then work our way home for the summer , then maybe thru the Pannama cannel on to the south pacific islands and beyond,. But our plans often change & were not going to be on a time schedule . We are going to be taking one day at a time
