Winter Storage/Living

Hi All,
I'm new to the forum, and not exactly sure where this fits in, but:
If you live aboard in the Caribbean, where can you safely store your boat or continue living aboard during Hurricane season?

Thanks!

Re: Winter Storage/Living

seems to me the hurrycame season is same as here on west coast mexico--summertime.....in winter i usually sail and find beautiful places to hang out for high season... come summer, in the latitudes in which is time to concern ones self with hurrycame holes, i do just that, and live on board in a marina with air conditioning and fan and fone and wifi and every thing ......

Re: Winter Storage/Living

If you insure your boat, your insurance company will have a lot of input. Usually in the Eastern Caribbean you head for the south coast of Grenada, or to Trinidad. If you are a gambler and quick on your feet with charged batteries in your crystal ball, you can stay almost anywhere, but be on the alert to move out quickly. Some yards up island dig keel holes and drop boats down to ground level. For many years we did Trinidad, good place, and we still have nice memories of being there.
