After that (love) job, editing YOUR life story is a job I'd pay real quids to do.

It'd be a far cry from the usual sailors biography that's for sure...

As mentioned a flare gun as opposed to a mini flare laucher is illegal in Great Britain, we however needed one as a polar bear deterrent using flash bang cartridges to visit Svalbard (Spitsbergen, or 500nm NNE of Norway ). We had to obtain a firearm certificate to own one, but you can buy one over the counter in all Scandinavian countries without a permit.

Not sure if you have located a Very Pistol yet?

I have 3 x Orion 12# flare pistols, and would be happy to sell you one. Google will show you what they look like. But first, double check that Tasmania allows them, and also see if you can locate any flares to use.

I have a bunch of 12# flares past expiry date that I'm about to dispose of, and need to source some replacements. Existing ones were bought in USA and brought into Australia on the boat. They have 300' altitude and 15,000 candela.

Australia Border Force does not restrict importing the flare pistols, hopefully someone will have the flares in stock. I know that they can't be shipped, I will have to pick up in person. I've spent an hour or so looking for a supplier of 12# aerial flares, but without success to date. I'll visit Whitworths tomorrow, but they don't appear to stock them.
