What's on Top - Cold Water Sailing

What it the last thing you put on when it is cold, wet and windy?

Is it your harness, your inflatable lifejacket or your foul weather jacket?

In all my past warm water sailing, I never really had to wear all three items at once but now as I am planning for some cold water sailing, it would seem that I need to wear all three items (at once) and each one SHOULD be on top.

What do you cold water guys wear on top, which item gets priority?

I sail mainly northern European waters - my pfd combines a harness and attachment point - that goes on top of everything. Otherwise if you ever inflate it and it's under your clothing it'll be interesting!

So you are only talking about two items not three.

Yes, it makes sense; I guess I sorta knew this already but was wondering if I was missing something important.

Thanks for your replies
