Togs for the rain?

Having just bough my boat we are in need of warm/ moderate weather rain gear. As we already have motorcycles I will be using some frog togs for the time being.

Does anyone else used these for boating? I like the space savings and they breath great.

Re: Togs for the rain?

I like my bike gear but wouldn't consider it aboard for length periods. If you are in cold and miserable saltwater conditions on your boat for periods of more than a couple of hours then getting breathable foul-weather gear is worthwhile. While the top-end offshore gear is outrageously expensive there are a lot of mid-priced options which are perfectly acceptable to everyone but serious offshore racers.

How about dick togs?
They have far greater space savings and breath even better.

We use rhe red frog toggs firebellies for foul weather. Have had them 2 years and love how light and water proof and durable they are. Wifes Gill which cost 5x as much lasted 1 year before falling apart.

I am goin gto officially retract my statement concerning Frogg Toggs.

After having to be in a severe storm for 2 hours at night, and getting soaked while wearing my supposedly 100% water proof Frogg Togg, I have come to the conclusion that Frogg Toggs freaking Suck and dont waste your money on them.
I have since reviewed tons of pissed customers that have recd no satisfaction from them, so I guess I should have known. Maybe I'll spray em with some waterproofing and see if that helps but am in the market for better light weight rain gear now.

Re: Togs for the rain?

We have 4 sets on board. Wife and I have good offshore foul weather gear, and the Frog Togs are for the kids and also for us, primarily for use in the dinghy when its raining but we dont' want to get wet. I wouldn't rely on them for offshore foul weather, but we do like them for running around the harbour in the dink.
