Second-Hand Life Raft

WE'RE BASED IN MARMARIS AND WOULD LIKE TO CHANGE OUR 10 MAN LIFE RAFT FOR A 6 MAN LIFE RAFT. HAPPY TO CONSIDER GOOD SECOND HAND AS A TRADE. DOES ANY ONE HAVE ANY ADVISE RE THIS? IS THERE IN FACT A MARKET FOR SECOND HAND RAFTS?

Welcome in Cruisers's Forum, biniberg. May I suggest that you avoid typing in capital letters? Lower case is easier to read (I suppose you want your post to be read).

And yes, there is a market for 2nd-hand rafts, but not a large one.

A proper service of a liferaft often costs as much as a brand new economy liferaft. So there isn't much of a market for used lower-end liferafts. A really good one like a Revere or an Avon can be worth something, if it is one with a 3-year service interval (vacuum packed), but less than you might think unless it has just been serviced.

I just spent $1000 having one of my liferafts serviced, a 10-year old Avon. I would not have done it if it were not vacuum packed.

By the way, it had never been serviced in 10 years, and I was gratified to see that it worked fine and didn't leak.

I might actually be interested in a 10 person raft. What brand/ type is it and when was it last checked?

Oh yeah, and the year of make please.
