A proper service
of a liferaft
often costs as much as a brand new economy liferaft
. So there isn't much of a market for used lower-end liferafts. A really good one like a Revere or an Avon
can be worth something, if it is one with a 3-year service
interval (vacuum packed), but less than you might think unless it has just been serviced.
I just spent $1000 having one of my liferafts serviced, a 10-year old Avon
. I would not have done it if it were not vacuum packed.
By the way, it had never been serviced in 10 years, and I was gratified to see that it worked fine and didn't leak.
