Re: QUACKERY & JUNK SCIENCE

From Goat,
""This medication can cause drowsiness, inability to operate machinery, shortness of breath, loss of bladder control, liver or kidney failure, strokes or other side effects..""

Goat, you forgot the one, "and possible death."

Re: QUACKERY & JUNK SCIENCE

Cute …

Not to take this drift too seriously, but arguing the differences between Coke and Pepsi is like arguing the difference between Budweiser and Coors, or Blue and Canadian (for the Canucks in the crowd). It’s basically the same thing, except for some very minor tweaks.

The major differences are in the marketing, which taps into our tribal nature that Tom was talking about.

I think Gordo is trying to gut our threads. If it wasn't for junk science, what would we discuss?

ER.. nope. Millers was totally natural where Budweiser uses Formaldehyde in the finings. Im super sensitive to it. Tend to feel sickly after a couple. Yet millions drink it...

If you say both are beers... and taste like.. er beer... yep.

Actually, I’m saying they all taste (and basically are) pretty much the same. Notwithstanding your supersensitive taste buds Weavis, they are all light lagers with very, shall was say, unchallenging taste profiles.

My point (if there is a point to be had here), is that much like so many mass market products; from cars to dish soap, often the substantive difference is in the marketing, not the products themselves. This is why so many of the same product gets manufactured on the same line, but just get branded differently.

It’s also why beer commercials could just as easy be commercials for cars — they’re selling lifestyle not the product themselves b/c they know the products aren’t that different.

I too must be very sensitive to Formaldehyde. After 2 or 3 beers, I lose all balance.
"Honest office, I am having an allergic reaction." Yup, that will do it.
Finally, my allergies saved me.

I forgot, we must keep this discussion about boating so, I consumed those beers on my boat.
