OGALLALA, Neb. (AP) — Authorities have released more information on a deadly collision
between a personal watercraft and a boat on Lake McConaughy (mah-CAHN'-eh-hay) in western Nebraska.
Keith County Attorney Randy Fair says 64-year-old Richard Caroselli, of Brighton, Colo., died on Sunday when the watercraft ended up the boat. Fair says four other family
members were in the boat, and three of them were injured.
Fair says 36-year-old Andrew Schmidt, of Castle Rock, Colo., is charged with manslaughter and reckless/negligent operation of a personal watercraft. His case isn't on the online court system, and it's unclear if he has an attorney.
Fair says reports show the boat was coming into a dock
when the watercraft slammed into the side of the boat and landed in the boat.
