Re: NEW MAYAN CALENDAR FOUND: DOOMSDAY POSSIBLY DELAYED

I've never understood this call to "kill this thread", usually by repeat contributors. It's a FORUM after all. You know; a platform for people to discuss various ideas that won't all necessarily be on the same page. So unless people start hurling personal insults at each other en-masse, what's the point? If you truly don't want to be annoyed by a thread, just follow the attached guideline.

Having said that, why is this thread in the "Health, Safety & Related gear" forum. Now that is a crime that needs to be swiftly dealt with by the Thread Police!!!

Good to hear! Our club's launch weekend is 6 weeks away, and I can't wait to get the boat cover off and tackle some projects.

(and hey, sorry for the cheap shot. It was a quick response to Stu picking on SailOar. Have a great year.)

It's a BOAT forum. Why must it play host to non-boating proxy threads for political grandstanding? Almost nothing good comes out of the 'climate' or 'gun' or similar threads, the same people say the same thing, and they lead to arguments, bad feels, and worse.

If those sorts of forums turn your crank, the Internet is thick with them; find one.

The shared interest in boats should transcend our differences here; we shouldn't have to have all that political crap in our face when trying to get a break from it by reading about and discussing boating.

(Besides, if you looked here, you're toast like the rest of us . )

I personally find it interesting how people the world over with common interests have different takes on certain things.

Besides, if we only ever had "mono v cat", "which anchor" and "what boat for a newbie to sail the world" etc threads on rinse and repeat, things would soon become dull around here.

Just my opinion of course!
