Logging of critical events

Would like to add a sensor to record any grounding or rock contacts with time/coordinates.
Thought about using openplotter to trigger a SMS or other event. question is what sensor makes sense? IMU with negative acceleration - and what value to use?
Or Impact sensor but again which threshold to avoid confusion with waves etc.

Has anyone attempted to address this already or is the diver still the preferred option when handing back a vessel
