Also remember its not the 10 pound one that has been leaking only the larger ones. Further, the percentage failure rates on the large ones are really quite low. Further, further, they were not exploding... they were leaking. So properly installed they would vent over the side.

Cruisers who must remain in their budget often have to think outside the square. I dont think theres a reason to panic. Put brain into gear first and see if there is a way around the problem.

I guess I'm not in need of Inteweb advice on how to use a leaking propane bottle

Re: Lite LPG gas bottle recall

I would expect that refill stations have been alerted not to refill them.

I guess I'll keep using mine then.

Re: Lite LPG Gas Bottle Recall

Just a note about "70 percent fill". Propane is at a constant pressure depending on temperature. The pressure will be the same almost empty or full. Typical ambient pressure would range from 135 to 175psi.

We're still getting ours filled down here.

It's funny because I've seen people scraping their Lite bottles for non-US inspected metal ones in Mexico. So they trade out their known-low-failure-rate for an unregulated and unknown-failure-rate.

I have a Lite 10 lb tank that I need to replace. The only tank that will fit in my locker is a Worthington. Does anyone know if the Worthington's are compatible with QCC fittings (quick connect)? Thanks...
