By coincidence, I had my eyes done at the Lasik in Vancouver two years ago, after doing extensive checking (i.e., failing to
google up any horror stories about them or any Lasik). They were super professional and reasonably priced, with plentiful follow up visits.
Price was about $1500 Cdn for both eyes at the time. (Notably, my eyes weren't too bad. Only mildly short-sighted.) Worked great, and I ended up with better than 20-20 vision.
There were plenty of pre-operation evaluations, and many follow-up checkups, (next day, next week, and then six months, I think) meaning that any Americans who want to come up here for the procedures would likely have to make multiple trips.
A couple caveats. I was 37 at the time of the surgery, and they warned me that in my mid-forties I would likely need glasses for reading (i.e., that this was a natural thing in most people, and the Lasik procedure would not correct it). Secondly, I ended up with a slight glare in my night vision -- not halos, but rather a little glare off lit objects that makes reading street signs a challenge.
All in all, though, I'd do it again. And I have no complaints about LASIK.
