Has anyone actually had a problem with corrosion or jamming?

I have heard recommendations regarding a freshwater rinse, but I never have rinsed mine, and it's been over 5 years. I believe these recommendations may have been based on a single test, where the biner was left hanging off a dock for 3 months. It even had barnacles growing on it--small wonder, anything thing would.

Has anyone actually experienced corrosion that affected function?

Never any serious corrosion in my case but one of the pins bent quite a bit and I gave up on the so called benefits. Had mine mounted 3 links behind the shackle so it should never have bent but maybe I wasn't looking that close when I set it up. R

Are you talking about the Kong Tango tether carabiner? It sounds like you are describing a Chain Gripper for anchoring.
