Inflatable PFD with Harness for Short Person

Hi, looking for a self-inflating with a sailing harness for my wife. The ones I've looked at have a minimum height requirement of 5'5" and she is 5'2". My understanding of the height requirement is so that the harness will fit above the ribs. If we cannot find one with an integrated harness what are the options available? Can we use a PFD without a harness and have a separate harness made? If so, should it be integrated into the PFD or a separate piece of gear altogether? Any info appreciated. Thanks for the help.

You can buy a separate harness at most marine stores or inline. Consider a crotch strap. I believe Sterns make a "universal".
