Hydrostatic Release Mechanism for Liferaft

Can anyone assist with information please.

What are some of the most popular accepted makes of these Hydrostatic Release Mechanisms which are highly recommended as part of the safety gear? Can we install it ourselves?

Does anyone have any comments they can add to help us choose one and install it - we are located Canary Islands about to cross. All comments gratefully received. Thanks.

Re: Hydrostatic Release Mechanism for Liferaft

CM Hammar - solutions for safety at sea is a widely used make. There are a few Spanish resellers, but I could not find one in the Canaries.
There shouldn’t be any problem installing a unit yourself, following the instructions of course.
