Flare Gun, flares and smoke flare on a plane?

Has anyone traveled on a plane with these before?

I know they are hazardous materials, and that I probably just can't show up at the airport with them. I was just wondering if they let you fly with them at all, and what red tape might need to be cut through to let you take them.

thx!

That is essentially what you have. The flares and other signaling devices we carry onboard are basically considered the same as fireworks.
If I was flying with a flare gun in my checked bag I would claim it up front, carry no ammunition (smoke or flare rounds), be prepared to treat it as a declared weapon and then be prepared to not be allowed to carry it at all if the agent doesn't understand that its harmless without rounds.

When you look into it you will find you can't carry hazmat on a passenger plane.

I think they are ground shipment only.

It may be better to purchase these things after you arrive at your destination or ground ship them well ahead of time.
