Dengue Outbreak in Cabo Verde Islands

Bad outbreak of dengue reported from Cabo Verde Islands.

Epidemic declared by Cabo Verde Health Ministry. 13000 suspected cases, 3000 confirmed cases, 68 haemorrhagic cases, 6 deaths.

Reported to Noonsite, hope they will post it this weekend or Monday under Cabo Verde / Health.

It would seem that Dengue is not so uncommon. We are experiencing an outbreak here in Key West and CDC tests show a relatively large number of people have been sero positive or infected at some point in their life. I haven't paid much attention to the #'s since I have bigger fish to fry right now but 2 friends have suffered and recovered with some memory, hearing, and energy level problems. Dave
