CO Poisioning in an Open Boat

I think everyone is somewhat aware of Carbon Monoxide poisioning hazards, but most tend to think it can't happen out on deck in the open air.

Recent case where a young man fell victim riding in an open ski boat should be helpful in getting everyone to identify that risks can exist where not expected. (Think motoring downwind in your boat).

I'm not sure what the reporter was trying to say when writing "in an older boat that did not have an outboard engine." Huh?

Means I think, having an inboard of some description.

I quite like the reference further down to "any combustible engine"...
