car alarm as boat alarm?
I paln to install a boat alarm, ie panic button.

Looking at car alarms as they are 12V, cheap and have multiple wireless remote transmitters to function as panic buttons so I do not need to wire a physical button.

Has anybody else done this? is it simple to bypass all the additional functionalities of the alarm system? is 120dB loud?

Any comments are welcome?

Yes, 120 dB is loud - about equal to a jackhammer @ 3 feet, or a jet engine @ 300 ft.
The pain threshold is generally stated as 125 dB.
