Re: Are More Expereinced Sailors Actually Safer? Prove It.

Lewis was more into the medical/ scientific aspects of solo sailing. He was there for the birth of singlehanded races and did it to see how much deprivation a human could endure. As to his haphazard preparation I believe the epitome was his choice of kangaroo hide weather gear">foul weather gear for his solo circumnavigation of Antarctica and the image stuck in my mind 40 years later is his description of his frozen fingers looking like sausages.

That is what an experienced sailor in command does.
Well that's a thought I won't be able to wipe off my cerebrum anytime soon.... upgrade that to a donald duck style outfit (shirt but no pants) and you've got yourself a meme

Lol....seems you have a thing for ducks! (No Peking!) [emoji2]

Seriously, what I meant to express is that experienced leadership will know to instil a calmness in others, when stressful conditions happen.

Over forty years as a professional mariner with crews as large as 80 and passengers up to 300 and I have never had an incident of more than a minor injury or a few square inches of scratched paint.
