A 41' powerboat was stolen from its slip at Confederation Basin, Kingston.
This is a marina in the heart of downtown, in the busy tourist district.
Boat stolen from slip | The Kingston Whig-Standard
This is my home marina, where I keep my boat (recently sold).
Being September, the boat was likely sitting unused, as most boat are at this time of year. Confed has dock
staff and security
, however after labour day their hours are reduced, mostly just 4-8pm weekdays. There is a security
gate to gain access to the docks, but it is easy enough to climb around it without much effort (even for me).
I thought this would be of interest to the CF.
It makes me wonder, how do you hide a stolen boat? It would be easy enough for the police to check all nearby marina's. And it must come out of the water
soon...that means a crane or really big truck and ramp
I'm sure there is more to the story.
